Skaftafell Ice Cave, Iceland

This is one of the beautiful and amazing places in the world to visit. Those tourists who like to travel in winter, they can visit to Skaftafell Ice Cave in Iceland. This particular cave is located on the frozen lagoon of the Svinafellsjokull Glacier.

Ice caves are temporary structure that appear at the edge of glaciers. They look so amazingly beautiful from the inside. But this view can be seen in the period mid November to mid March that is in winter after long periods of rain when the surface layer of the glacier has been washed away. It can be seen in ice-caves like this one and on floating icebergs that have recently rolled over.

The visitors can climbing this cave but they need to be more careful and must with the partners...

The view inside the cave. The cave is accessible through a 22 foot entrance on the shoreline. At the end it tapers to a light squeeze no more than four feet high. They are safe to enter only in winter when the cold temperatures harden the ice.

Iceland's beauty has the luxury of having been formed by different influences of the fire and water due to its volcanic and glacial presence.

Even so one could hear constant cracking sounds inside the cave. It was not because it was going to collapse but because the cave was moving along with the glacier itself. Each time the glacier moved a millimeter loud sounds could be heard.
