Candi Borobudur, Yogjakarta

Candi Borobudur is the memorial  historical monument in Indonesia. This place is one of the greatest places in the world. The monument is located in the Kedu Valley, in the southern part of Central Java, at the centre of the island of Java, Indonesia.

Candi Borobudur temple is the largest Buddhist monument in the world. This place was built in the of King Samaratungga, one of the kings of Old Mataram Kingdom, the descendant of Sailendra dynasty in 824. This mean this temple was built 300 years before Angkor Wat in Cambodia and 400 years before the great cathedrals of Europe.

This is the view from the top of Candi Borobudur. The name of Borobudur as some people say means a mountain having terraces (budhara), while other says that Borobudur means monastery on the high place.

And this the view around the top of the Borobudur. It was built in three tiers, a pyramidal base with five concentric square terraces, the trunk of a cone with three circular platforms and at the top a monumental stupa.

The walls and balustrades are decorated with fine low reliefs, covering a total surface area of 2,500 m. Around the circular platforms are 72 openwork stupas, each containing a statue of the Buddha. And now this memorable and amazing place was recorded the higher visitors there. From this top, you can see the view around the Borobudur....
